Confirmed five-star hotels: town addresses, resorts and historic residences. Five stars do not imply Palace status; the editor does not award official distinctions.
Choose Le Negresco for art and historic Nice, not simply its Promenade des Anglais address. The independent hotel combines its recognisable dome, interiors from different periods and Jeanne Augier’s collection.
Anantara Plaza Nice combines a city itinerary with an evening above the rooftops. Facing Albert I Gardens, it places Old Nice, Carré d’Or shopping and the promenade within the same urban setting.
Boscolo Nice offers an urban spa stay with an expressive Italian character. Its Boulevard Victor Hugo address keeps the sea on your itinerary, but the hotel experience centres on a city neighbourhood, dining and wellness spaces.
Hôtel du Couvent offers the unusual experience of staying in a former convent within Old Nice. Gardens, restrained materials and the transition from city lanes to an enclosed inner world define it.
Le Victoria suits travellers combining seaside Nice, contemporary comfort and a prominent dining rooftop. Between the promenade and Place Masséna, city walks naturally alternate with returning for the spa or dinner.
Carlton Cannes is an address through which the ceremonial Croisette becomes legible. Choose its historic exterior, substantial hotel format and the possibility of combining city life with patio relaxation.
Hôtel Martinez presents Cannes’ seafront with a strong Art Deco mood. It suits travellers wanting a substantial Croisette hotel, dining experiences and wellness time rather than simply a bed between outings.
Le Majestic can be understood as the hotel side of the Palais des Festivals setting. It combines the Croisette, substantial service and time by a pool or beach.
JW Marriott Cannes interprets the city’s cinematic identity through a substantial contemporary hotel. On the former Palais des Festivals site, a Croisette stay combines dining and rooftop time.
Belle Plage presents Cannes beside Square Mistral through contemporary architecture and a separate spa experience. Its current official site identifies five stars; older four-star descriptions should not be carried forward automatically.
Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo places a stay within Monte-Carlo’s architectural centre. The hotel becomes part of an itinerary around Casino Square, dining culture and historic resort surroundings.
Hôtel Hermitage suits Belle Époque architecture and a more intimate reading of Monte-Carlo. Near the resort centre, its character unfolds through interiors, the winter garden and architectural detail.
Métropole Monte-Carlo combines a Belle Époque exterior with a more enclosed inner world near Casino Square. Choose dining, spa and Odyssey pool rather than direct beach life.
Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc is a historic resort on southern Cap d’Antibes. Choose grounds, a seaward setting and a day shaped by gardens and water rather than constant travel between towns.
Belles Rives is a five-star waterside address with an Art Deco character. It combines Juan-les-Pins, dinner and proximity to the sea in an individual format rather than a large urban resort.
Hôtel Juana offers an Art Deco mood by Juan-les-Pins’ pine district. Combine walks, pool time and evenings rather than sleeping directly above the sand.
Cap d’Antibes Beach Hotel is a small five-star property for days by the water. Contemporary design and a beach format distinguish it from the peninsula’s historic houses.
Byblos combines central Saint-Tropez, resort public spaces and a distinctive evening scene. Choose a hotel world beside the village, not simply a bed near the port.
Château de la Messardière is a choice for hills, grounds and a complete resort day. Château describes the actual Airelles hotel ensemble rather than serving as a synonym for price.
Hôtel de Paris Saint-Tropez is a five-star town address with a genuine panoramic roof. Stay at the village entrance and end the day above its tiled roofs.
Sezz Saint-Tropez is a five-star design boutique whose gardens and pool create an independent rhythm. Choose a setting outside the port’s dense urban fabric while retaining village outings.
Start with transport and your itinerary. Rail outings favour a town base near the right station; gardens and pool days an estate with transfers planned. Compare district, terrain and the specific room category. A seafront façade does not guarantee views from every room; spa and beach access may have separate conditions. Check restaurant and pool seasons for your dates.
