Galimard is a rewarding stop for experiencing the Riviera’s character at an unhurried pace.

Grasse can be discovered through more than sight. At Fragonard’s historical factory, scent, materials and skilled work reveal the town from another angle. Behind an apparently effortless fragrance lies a sequence of precise operations. After viewpoints and stone streets, the visit offers a welcome change of pace.
Do not try to choose your fragrance in the first few minutes. First understand what you are smelling: a raw material, an extraction or a finished composition. The shop at the end can then be a considered continuation of the visit rather than its only purpose.
Fragonard was established in Grasse in 1926. Its name honours painter Jean-Honoré Fragonard; it does not mean that the 18th-century artist founded the modern perfume house. In Grasse, art and perfumery often share the same street, but they have distinct stories.
The historical building was an 18th-century tannery before becoming a perfume factory. Fragonard has occupied it since 1926; a renovation in 2013 shaped today’s visitor route. Older equipment shows how a family industry changed alongside its techniques.
A perfumer’s “organ” is a workstation of essence bottles, not a musical instrument. The comparison helps explain composition: a single note and a finished fragrance are different experiences.
Look at the copper stills and extraction equipment; ask about the process as well as the finished fragrances.
See the perfumer’s organ and bottling stages, which give a human scale to a product usually encountered on a shop shelf.
Do not confuse the Grasse factory, the Èze laboratory and the Paris museum. These are different venues; the address and workshop format matter.
For curious travellers and lovers of craftsmanship and fragrance. Consider scent sensitivity when deciding whether the format suits you.
